Issued by the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, the Pennsylvania Fair Education Poster must be displayed by educational institutions in an easily accessible, well-lit and conspicuous location where it can be viewed by those seeking, using or granting any of the educational institution’s accommodations, advantages, facilities or privileges. The requirement also includes displaying this notice anywhere that the educational institution typically posts informational notices, such as a website, bulletin board, student handbooks or publications.
The notice includes information on the following:
- Information on classes protected from discrimination
- Statement that it is unlawful to retaliate against someone who has filed a complaint
Protected classes as defined by the notice include:
- Race
- Color
- Sex
- Religion
- Ancestry
- National origin
- Handicap or disability
- Record of a handicap or disability, or relationship or association with an individual with a handicap or disability
- Use of a guide or support animal, and/or handling or training of support or guide animals.
